I understand that only recently you are allowed to take 2 vehicles into mainland Mexico, with only 1 driver. If there is a permit, how to I get it now?
Thanks Barry

You need your Passport, Drivers Licence, Vehicle Title, and Credit Card. Bring the original and 2 copies of each

There are three ways of getting the permit.

1. Go to the nearest Mexican consulate. $39.60 USD
CHICAGO, HOUSTON, DALLAS, AUSTIN, FORT WORTH, LOS ANGELES, SACRAMENTO, SAN BERNARDINO, SAN FRANCISCO, PHOENIX, ALBUQUERQUE and DENVER

2. Get it at the border, after you cross into Mexico. $27 USD plus taxes

3 GET IT ON LINE. $50.00 USD I highly recommend you get it on line. It will cost you a little bit more but you don't have to worry about lines. Once a submitted my application on line I received my permit and sticker via FedEx in about a week

i think you will have prob. the rule may have changed but when I went in with a RV at that time only one vehicle also you can do it alone it's much better and safer to have a look out with you stop in at Sanburns ins. at most any border town and get theSandburns ins. and they will map you a rout with info. on camp grounds and a good ins. co also you need credit card to bond the RV. You will have fun I went all the way to Belize.

My automobile insurance covers something that I tow at the back of my autos. ( it particularly is Allstate in NC ) , and that i'm distinctly specific that plates and registration are actually not required for the towed automobile.you're able to examine with your nearby DMV place of work or internet internet site to verify.
