Usually before I start my period my breast seem to get very tender and slightly swollen. About a year ago I had a fibroid cyst removed from my right breast and it stays tender and a lilltle more swollen. Just do self breast exams a couple times a month. Know every inch of your breast and if you notice anything different contact your doctor. Note if the swelling is more noticeable before you start each month. If the condition does not improve you should see doctor...

I have sore inflamed breats when i am nearing a period and i also had this once and it was an inflammitory infection. The Dr gave me some ibuprofen cream to rub in 3 times a day and it was gone within a week. If it isnt happending just before your period and is ongoing i would go to the Dr and get it checked.

My breasts swell every month with pms. My doc said it was the hormone change. If it lasts for more than a week and isn't around your period I'd see a doctor.

A few days before my periods my breasts used to swell a little and become tender.
If it persists, I'd see the doc about it, or if they get really sore.
It could be just a 'period' thing or it could be something more serious.

If you know that you aren't pregnant....then you might have some underlying infection....also check for lumps....I'd say go see a doc.
