I don't know, but I am a regular coffee drinker and a cup of hot tea will turn me into a hyper active person. It is too much for me.

Here is a chart that shows the milligrams on caffeine contained in 12 ounces of various beverages. As you can see, coffee has the most and even green tea has traces of caffeine.

Coffee has more than twice the amount of caffeine per serving than tea. There is a myth that tea has more caffeine, but that is only on a pound for pound comparison. You use much smaller (lighter) amounts of tea per serving than coffee. Here's the numbers: Caffeine content of select common food and drugs[
Product Serving size Caffeine per serving (mg)

Chocolate, Milk (Hershey Bar) 1 bar (43 g; 1.5 oz) 10
Red Bull 240 mL (8.2 US fl oz) 80
Bawls Guarana 296 mL (10 US fl oz) 67

on a general basis, no.
Green Teas don't have caffeine, and you would be surprised that most decaffeinated coffees still have a level of caffeine in them!!

I am told there is more caffeine in tea but tea seems more gentle--not so abrupt lift--curious to see what others think.

depends on the tea your drinking. black teas have quite a bit but there are huge health benefits to tea that coffee doesn't have.
