and you're better of with an SG? If so, what is the height cut-off for being able to play a Les Paul?

Height doesn't have to do with strength. If you can handle it, then it's all good.

The older Les Pauls are heavy. I would say it is more to do with strength than height, but you can get backache from a Les Paul. The SG was originally the replacement for the Les Paul, and is much lighter,. but it does have a different sound, and look.

If you want a Les Paul, but don't want the weight, Gibson do a range of "weight relieved" Les Pauls - basically they are not solid, and have chambers cut in the body. Ask in a good guitar store.

he prefers sg's to allow him to run around on stage and leave a show each night without having his shoulder feeling like a pitched 8 innings. les paul's sound great. but they are heavy. for alot of stage movement i go with lighter guitars too. sg's, strats, pawnshop specials. plus if angus was playing a heavier guitar, he couldn't make it onto brian's shoulders. that extra wieght would bring johnson down.
i think the real reason angus plays the sg is because of the horns. it's like the SG says "hey satan look at me, i'm playin in a rockin band"
highway to hell baby.

Maybe if you're a wimp a Les Paul would be too heavy but it doesn't have anything to do with your height.

Hello there!

Well, I'm a die hard fan of AC/DC but if Angus Young said that I can say that I'm disappointed.

Didn't he know that Impossible is Nothing??

Didn't he know that Tony Iommi played his Guitar with his severed finger-tips??

Didn't he know that Rick Allen continued Drumming even after getting his arm severed? and he was on Drums when Def Leppard released Hysteria and as you know it went 12x Platinum and dominated album charts for 3 years?

I don't think that Angus said that

No, you can play anything if you really want to, just practice, practice, practice.
