Looking to go to the Riviera Maya, (or anywhere kind of close as I live in Denver.) What are some of the most romantic spots, that have a lot to do so I won't get bored, in the Playa/Cancun areas for a honeymoon? We'll be traveling in February. Thanks!

I'm hoping people have ideas on an actual resort...all inclusive. Thanks!

playa del carmen would be a great base from which to explore a bit further. of course, it's also nice enough there not to go anywhere else at all. although i've heard it's grown quite a bit in the past year or two, playa had a smaller, more personable feel to it than cancun.

some great daytrips are going to a cenote, tulum, cozumel or isla mujeres, and maybe a diving or snorkeling trip. aside from laying on the beach, playa has good restaurants, shopping, fun bars and cool locals to meet.

but, if you prefer air conditioned malls to wandering the pedestrian streets maybe cancun is better. congrats and have a great trip .

If you are looking for an all inclusive try
www.riu.com
they are very nice properties
Good Luck!
they have 3 properties in Cancun and 6 in Playa del Carmen (Riviera Maya), so plenty of options

My husband and that i have been married in June 2006. We honeymooned on the Moon Palace, somewhat south of the cancun inn district. The Moon Palace is largely all to itself, so strolling everywhere outside of the complicated fairly isn't plausible. we fairly loved it there because we are not attracted to clubbing and needed some thing extra quiet, so we knew the inn district replaced into not for us. we've also stayed on the Playcar Palace and loved it there to boot. it is totally on the point of Playa del Carmen's fifth Ave. buying and the ferry that would take you to Cozumel, so there's a lot extra to do outside of the inn than there replaced into on the Moon Palace. regrettably, there is not a lot of a coastline in the front of this inn, yet there's a public coastline about a block away. All Palace inns are all-inclusive and provide loose excursions to Mayan ruins, snorkeling, etc. I fantastically propose them.
