Personally, I don't believe he should have lost this assignment the first time he held it.

I believe Lott is the sort of plain-speaking republican we need right now.

Save your pedantic slander, you guiless libs.

Pelosi is already making a mockery of the House electoral process by backing Murtha.

This I LOVE!

All wonderfully insightful and original opinions and thoughts.

Also, just for the record-- I like being insulted when wit is the weapon.

And yes, a "bad move" is probablly a better definition.

Pelosi's ploy to back Murtha is just that...a ploy. In order to maintain a low profile over the next few years, she cannot be the front-runner or placed under the scrutany any speaker gets. That would ruin her chances at, say, running for President.

Trent Lott should stay behind the scenes. So long as he isnt perceived as being relevant, he will remain relevant. As for him losing the assignment the first time, that was simply a power play by other Republicans who thought they would do better filling his shoes. Unlikely he will get the nod again unless they really feel he will straighten out the mess they made.

Yes I agree with you.

I agree, but I think Orrin Hatch would be a better choice.
Talk about plain spoken and just an all around honest guy...

Yes I'm a Liberal.
How am I doing so far?

I wouldn't say 'mockery', just a REALLY bad move.

Oooh, Pelosi is the witch from Sodom. Watch out. The black helicopters are landing and the evil libs will come for your first born child.

Lott is another Repub hack. It is time to change course and move to the center. The voters have rejected the neocon agenda.

I like Sen. Lott, but if we elect him back into leadership, the lib press will just go in to the race thing again to blackguard our party. Sen. Roberts of Kansas would be a good choice--talk about plain spoken.

communicate radio took the immigration invoice, and reform, as their toddler a jointly as in the past. it particularly is the only reason maximum of people spoke back to the invoice via contacting their representatives. Now, i'm no longer asserting the invoice is sweet, undesirable, or in between. basically that without the communicate radio conservatives, the american public, regrettably, might by no ability had observed. Broadcasters of the political persuasion now have great ability. that's a shame, for, we prefer a right away communicate with our representatives, with our government, no longer siphoned with the aid of demagogues extra helpful suited to careers in propaganda in international places in the previous i might particularly no longer point out.

I agree! I think Lott is a straight-shooter and we'll be better off with him as the Whip!

Given his reputation (deserved or otherwise) for racial insensitivity, I think the Republican party is making a major mistake if it hopes to broaden it's demographic appeal.

Well, its official. It was just announced about an hour ago.
Lott will make us proud. Can't wait to see him and Pelosi going at it. Bet he will be able to get rid of that perpetual fake smile on her face.
