When I went to see my mom on her b-day, I had literally like an hour before found out that I was 2.5 months pregnant. I had battled infertility for well over 10 years only to be told by 2 doctors within the last two years that I'd never have children. So when I got there the look on my face must have told something was up. But I had her open her gifts. She did and asked what was up, so I asked her how she'd feel about being a grandmother. She didn't know what the hell I was talking about. And I had to convince her that I was really pregnant. I took her out to dinner afterwards, she was so excited she told everyone..the hostess, the waitress, one of her co-workers we ran into. It was great!

You can send a card. I had a friend pass out little newborn diapers with a note inside saying she was expecting.

With my mom, I just kinda blurted it out. With my sisters I called them each individually and asked them if they wanted to be called ant, aunt, or auntie? They were both quiet for a second and then started screaming! (with joy)
