I spent 3 full days and nights awake 2 years ago and spent the whole time in the office catching up on work. You start to get a little crazy after 2 and a half days. Legally speaking I believe if you stay awake for 72 hours you can claim temporary medical insanity in defence of a crime

36 hours - When I was finishing off my Masters in Education, because I was working, too so the only time I had was at night.
It's a horrible feeling wanting to go to sleep and having to make yourself stay awake.

Wow!! Thats really a long time. The max time I have ever been awke is about 28 hours and that too during my cousin's marriage. Otherwise, its usually 15.

three years while being abused. i just didn't want to sleep or have nightmares. also i was crying alot.
besides that ten days in 2001 but not for 9/11....it was because a good friend died during the post season of the a league playoff to the championship.
but i do not fear sleep or fear i could die in my sleep

i have stayed awake for 4 1/2 days. it was over spring break. i was in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. And my friends and I didn't sleep a wink.
