Children frequently remove socks and fling them for no apparent reason. If you have a dog they enjoy eating, smelling, and playing with dirty socks. the washing machine occasionally absorbs them. When you are doing laundry they are small enough to miss in the dryer, and they cling briefly to other clothes taken out of the dryer and then fall off at the worse possible moment.

I do not honestly understand. And I've puzzled this earlier than. Because with a few groups it is convenient. A tiger. A D-Back. An Angel. A Yankee. But I used to be considering this the opposite day, on the grounds that I believe Rockies is an odd one too. A Rocky? It is not sensible. Rockies are plural mountains. You do not name Pikes Peak a rocky. It's a You use Rocky Mountain so rocky will also be an adjective, however no longer a noun. So it is wierd to me to believe of a participant being a Rocky. So, THEN that obtained me considering Red Sox and White Sox. A white sox/a crimson sox does not sound proper. But A crimson sock/ a white sock simply sounds wierd. Interesting query.

I finally figured out the answer to that and you are the first to ask me. I had the same problem with socks going in the washing machine and then the dryer with the rest of the family clothes but never being seen again.

It turns out that static electricity was making them stick to other clothing (especially underwear) and they were getting put away with those other clothes. Take a look at the other laundry and you will find them snuggled in there clinging to nightgowns and undies.

You could try antistatic fabric softener or just shake the other clothes to detach the hidden socks before everything gets put away.

Huey has the most comprehensive answer to this age-old question I have ever seen!

I will just add that small socks really can get sucked up in some washers, a plumber told me that once.

I think you should have a sock puppet day, then save a couple for cleaning (my kids like to put them on their both hands and dust) then TOSS THEM! I have tormented myself over my huge pile and kept some for years!

Did you forget about the sock monster? We have one...he lives in the dryer I think...I have 4 kids as well, and they all go to school wearing mismatched socks!!!!Too funny. When you take your socks out of the washer, tie them together in pairs before you put them in the dryer. That may help.

throw them all out. start fresh with a differnt kind of sock for each person. Tube with gray, ankle w/out gray, each person has their kind of sock. Each one also has their own lingerie bag.( a mesh bag with a zipper on it) Everybody puts their dirty socks in pairs into their own bag. The whole bag goes in the wash and dry and is returned as is. no more lost socks in the laundry.
