Barring a nuclear winter or other catastrophic event, we'll still be around, polluting, smoking, and drinking. Humans are pretty hardy creatures, and have lived through plagues, Ice Ages, etc. While we are using our resources at an exponential rate, I do think this will necessitate some of the newer technologies already in the works. We'll use fossil fuels until we can't any more, but there's always other forms of energy. Right now, its too expense to implement mass change across the globe, but soon we won't have a choice, and I can't fathom that we as people (who have been around for hundreds of thousands of years) would suddenly fail to adapt. That's what we were meant to do- to populate this planet.
So no, unless a catastrophe of unheard-of magnitude strikes us, we'll still be around. People for centuries have said the end times are upon us. I'm still waiting....

Humans will still be around. The gloom and doom folks have been around for a long time. They are wrong
Life will be very different then, but it will go on. Think about how much has happened since 1900. The rise of the automobile - the plane - space travel... The journey to "off planet" for more than an experimental few will take a LONG time. It's just that it is HARD and expensive.
Think about computers. Not long ago, they took up a room. Now, a palm pilot has more capacity and power than they did.
100 years ago, computers were not even conceived of. What will be invented in the next 100 year??????

I think humanity will probably still be around. Civillisation? Maybe not. It would take a serious calamity to eradicate all human life, and while global warming would cause serious damage, it would not be enough. The planet is probably not ruined... give it a few million years and it will be up and running again, I suspect.

there's a good chance. either by Nuclear war which is bound to happen, we (the US) have warheads ready to fire in case of such events, also does Japan. etc. other countries. if anything goes wrong or a missile accidentally gets fired and somehow directly hits Japan/Russia then we're screwed, or visa versa. and think of other things, Asteroids, (Nassa does not have everyone of these babies tracked, trust me) the sun could explode, (there's no way of telling when, scientist predict billions of years) however this is not relevant, seeing as how we can only study the sun from a distance. and other things (bible predictions from revelations) but I don't want to piss atheists off so I'll leave it at this. Yes there is a good chance but if the world ends it ends. what does it matter? the Human race is greedy and just about everyone is looking out for them self ins ted of others. let God sort them out.

No, human beings will not be extinct within 100 years. Part of the reason is that the cold wars are over.We have not ruined our planet. It is now more safe.

no that can but will not happen
one reason is that 100 years ago humans were not as inteligent and advanced as today. thus in 100 years time humans will be more inteligent than today and they (since we dont expect to see the next 100 years) will be able to make nessesities out or various resources that will have been made or left over. like smoke to fuel poluted air to water clean air and plastic.

Maybe. The baseline for everything has declined rapidly even in my lifetime that I've noticed.I don't need a scientist to tell me that something's wrong.I can go outdoors and see it plainly.Things are NOT the same
and there are no ways to replace that which we have taken. Our oceans will be dead from overfishing and pollution and then,it's gonna be all over, & quick.
That's why I eat ONLY spotted owls,no seafood for me!

No. If anything, humans will live longer in 100 years than they do now. Don't let the environmentalists get you down. The earth is cleaner now than it was 100 years ago.
