I could have elaborated a little more on this question. It was a whole cereal bowl of milk that spilled and it was wipe up right away. The area has been febrezed, shampooed, and sprinkled with baking soda, but the odor still remains. Its the padding that's most likely the problem. Can odoban or natures miracle work for the padding as well as the carpet?

I'm sure that by now you've managed to get the huge chunks up. Now you have to worry about the smell. If you can get to a store that sells OdoBan you have it made. I first started buying the product at SAM'S-- you know the evil corporate conglomerate that chews up small businesses for snacks. Well, nevertheless, the product is a real jewel. I have found it at Food Lion recently, but the best way to buy it is in a gallon jug. Just spray the product onto the nasty area until the area is completely covered. Wait until it dries. Sniff and spray again if necessary. You'll be pleasantly surprised. I've used OdoBan for about 15 years now. It not only kills nasty odors, but it also kills germs.

I hope it works as well for you as it has for me.

Hi
I would recommended cleaning your carpets and using a disinfectant like Milgo SR (may need to go to a janitorial supply store for this and ask for a disinfectant for carpet) and put it in the rinse water. Deodorizers just cover up the smell for a while and disinfectant kill bacteria in the carpet.

Please DO NOT put anything on the carpet that was not made for carpet

Repeat as mandatory. particularly situations wd-40 will artwork too... you may purely attempt.

i would suggest shampooing or steam cleaning it as soon as possible, however in the meantime you could use some of the no vacuum carpet fresh spray. I have found it to be better than the powdered kind. good luck to you.
