Only if you're boxing out and going for a rebound. Once the shot is in the air you can get in front of the offensive player and push them around with your backside to try and get the rebound.

I think you can. You can force the offense out of the paint with a quick double team, pressure, or getting up on your man when he's backing down on you.

Not exactly "push," but in the professional ranks (e.g., NBA), players are allowed (too some extent) to put a forearm on the back of their opponents in the paint.

Any pushing is as foul. There was a time that the NBA allowed a defender to hand check.

You are allowed to occupy the horizontal plane defined by the positioning of your body, and you are allowed to "defend" this plane by your physical presence - not by pushing and shoving.
