where does it go when its confiscated from a drug bust, by city, county, state or fed. officials? Or even huge amounts, $800 million....where does this money go after it siezed?????

....stored away somewhere....millions and millions of $$$...how can this be accounted for? Who is gaining interest? With todays economy, why the hell isn't there some constructive direction for this massive stockpile of money? Homeless, city reconstruction, there has to be some common sense here...at least put it to use.

The correct answer is that the final destination for that money will be the Federal Revenue. The money should be placed back into the economy. I don't think that happens all the time due to corruption.

I used to be in law enforcement. When money and property is seized it is divided among the arresting agencies and the state. If they are working with various agencies (local, county, state federal or other local cops), there is usually an agreement set at the beginning of the task force.

It vanishes. Actually, you'd be surprised at the lack of money that gets collected. A lot of it gets packed away from evidence.

The general answer is that it goes into the general revenue fund of the government that got the dough.

no one really know they say it go to deference cities police dept. and states governments .
