I haven't seen anything about freshwater angels, but I have read reports of saltwater angels clicking when stressed.

I'll let you know in a year or so when I set up my angel tank :-P

I have a large koi angel fish and she makes no noise except when feeding. She pecks flakes off the surface of the water and this results in a slight noise, comparable to a drop of water falling in the tank. Otherwise I've never experienced any sounds. I also just recently purchased some tetras, snails and chinese algae eater since the last of my chilchids (apart from the angel) just died and I wanted to go for a less aggressive tank this time.

its been my experience that they do lol... we used to have a 180 gallon fish tank and had many fish... i learned alot from having both salt water and fresh water... fresh tend not to last as long, but salt water are alot of work... what he notice which was cute was the puffer fish loved to me patted.. he would go to the top of the tank and rubb up against my handlol

some catfish and grunters will though.
