I am currently a MA and it is nice as a beginning point but of course I'd like to pursue bigger things. I dont want to be a RN but was considering becoming a LPN and then getting a Master's in HealthCare Administration and Management.

What other things should I consider?

What about a career in public health? I'm a Community Health Promoter and I promote physical activity in the community I work in. This means I do health fairs and things, but also I look to improving hiking trails, I work with town developers to plan new subdivisions for physical activity and access to food. I also work on child poverty issues. There is a lot involved and it is quite an enjoyable job, and it pays really well too!

You can also do things like early detection of cancer, injury prevention and substance abuse prevention work in public health. We have health promoters in healthy teeth as well. There is also tobacco use prevention and tobacco cessation.

It is a great field with lots of options.

My educational background is a BA in Community health, but it really doesn't matter what the BA is in, it can be anything.

Best of luck to you!

constructive there are classes obtainable that can assist you, or carry you. a super p.c. of them will fee you a month-to-month fee whether you in no way use it. it could get costly tremendously speedy. ask your self some questions first: a million. Is it basically a sabbatical for a semester? 2. Are you going to have the ambition in a while to bypass lower back? 3. How plenty longer till your complete? a million 12 months? 2? 3? 4. Or is this your way of working as much as quitting? whether it somewhat is only a sabbatical for a semester, there's a probability that your mom's insurance will proceed, in case you pledge to return. they'd say that they gained't conceal you in case you at the instant are not sign up for the semester, yet will reinstate your insurance once you come. Or they're going to drop you and be finished with you. when I typed in: scientific insurance 19 12 months no longer in college, I have been given over 5,000,000 hits - yeah, there is techniques. MAKE stable judgements & better of success!

I am a lab tech who is working on a degree in Healthcare Administration, so i understand what you are going through, believe me. I am going to school online and will be taking classes until the middle of 2008. My advice to you is to understand that online colleges (if that is what you are going to do) can be just as difficult and time-consuming as regular, traditional colleges. You will have to have time management (I didn't at first!) I have been told that a B.A. in Healthcare management is a good way to go if you want to stay in the medical field.

hi,
I'm a RN and if you really want to be a RN don't start with becoming a LPN.
You should go right for the RN and get into it now.
the pay is great and can take you any where you want to go.
do it, do it.
good luck
