One of my good friends swears she is pregnant. She sayst that she would be around 3 weeks....meaning she has not yet missed her period. She told me this morning that she has not yet felt morning sickness, breast tenderness (she says she never feels breast tesnderness around the time of her period) or any other symptoms of ealry pregnancy. I told her to wait it out, cause I have read that breast tenderness always happens in early pregnancy and that early pregnancy symptoms could also be early PMS symptoms. Is this true or am I wrong? I don't want to seem unsympathetic to what she feels but if she has no morning sickness, no breast tenderness and she is already 3 weeks....is she eally pregnant? what do i tell her the next time she calls? thanks for all your help in advance.

hun you are right, most women get ore boobs before their periods...if she is 3 weeks she has only just concieved and the baby wont even be in her womb yet so therefore wouldnt of implanted so their is still chance of baby becoming a period (ie: not pregnant!) she can only be sure when she takes her test around 4-5 weeks when the baby is in its bed xx

Don't tell her anything, except she needs to go to the doctor if she already hasn't. Really folks shouldn't confide to anyone that they are pregnant so early. Your chances of miscarriage are way to high. PMS symptoms can be the same as pregnancy symptoms. And some women never experience any of those symptoms. Besides three weeks is a little too early to be feeling a whole lot of anything. At 3 weeks for me, I had infact missed my period. Seeing as how my fetuses growths indicates that I didn't conceive until just before my period was due. And I ovulated later than average. So you can't necessarily go by that. You and she will just have to wait it out and have it confirmed by a doctor.

Not every pregnancy is the same. I didn't have morning sickness with my first one, but I did with my second. My breasts were tender with my first one, but they weren't with my second. Everyone is different, The only way for you to really know if she is pregnant is to go with her to the doctor's, or see the home pregnancy test. Is there a history that makes you not believe her?

with one pregnancy, I had very very very sore boobs, and my sickness didn't start until I was two months along
with the other, no boob tenderness and I was sick a week after conception.

even if she is, the baby is in her womb, that is where it is fertilized, after ovulation. but not all women have same symptoms,
a friend of mine has no sore boobs, no sickness, and still has light periods, all through her pregnancy. she is preggo with her fourth.

Well, if she has not had any symptoms yet and has not missed her period then how the heck does she think she's pregnant?

This sounds like a case of wishful thinking....

Sometimes we can IMAGINE ourselves into being pregnant. When she calls again just tell her that its too early to tell ... How about taking her out somewhere to get her mind off of things?
