If you take it to your bank, their international dept will convert it to whatever your local currency is, and deposit into your account. Here if Florida, it recently took 10 business days to covert an Italian check (in euros) to US dollars and deposit it into my company's business account.

Keep it as a souvenir or go to an airport/bank to exchange it for US Dollars.
