definitely doesn't need the money. Do you think its boredom or do you think he loves the game that much that he just can't help coming back in some form?

Personally~ I think it's a little of both...He loves the game and the money...okay that's a bonus!! Imagine you practice your entire life..from when you were 5-6 yrs old...and you play professionally and then one day...you just stop!! I'd imagine..you'd be sitting at home...holding the football on Sunday watching EVERY football game televised...and you say..."Gosh...I miss that!!!" BAM!! You decided retirement isn't for you...and you throw your hat into the NFL arena again... and EVEN if you DON'T play...you're there!!! getting paid....for standing there in uniform...holding a football..like you did on your couch...makes sense!!!!

Pretty much almost free money, since there's not a large likelihood he will play. If he does, that just helps further his stats on the all time list for total yardage, number of completions, etc. And normally if you make it to that level in any kind of competition, you normally love what you are doing. And when you love what you are doing, it's hard to give it up, even when it's well past your time to give it up.

Its free money and he likes the teamsmanship that comes with hanging out with the boys. His passion for the game is there even if his age says otherwise. It is hard to turn that passion off.

it is the dumbest soccer question ever! Why would you be excited over Testaverde? Why would you desire him? if your nr. one qb gets injury - odds are you wont even get on the edge of the superbowl. Wont be an identical???? Yeah the league would be sooooooo plenty youthful.

He wants a Super Bowl ring. The NE gives him a chance of obtaining that.

I think he just doesn't want to face the fact that he is getting older. He was not effective when he was with Dallas. He was good in his day but that day has passed and he needs to realize that.
