CD Rome is a great technology because they save all the files in Italian which means that it is hard for non-Italian speaking hackers to read your files. Of course if you don't know how to read Italian it can be trouble for you too.
CD ROMs are also quite good. Here's some info worth reading:

Floppy discs are pretty much obsolete and can be ignored.

Anything a Floppy can do a USB flash drive can do a hundred times better.

The floppy disc was "The Thing" in it's time as was the 8 track. Floppy drives are old technology now, replaced by CD-Rom, replaced by DVD-Rom, replaced or at least supplemented by Flash Ram via the USB port. The advantage to all is that the data can be transported from computer to computer, or stored offline for future use. CD-Ram is about the oldest useable technology to even consider, and it's future is probably nearing the end.

The advantages of a CD ROM drive are that you can play music and some games and take data off disks you've burned on other computers. You're better with a DVD +/- RW drive nowadays though as you can use that to listen to music on CDs, play films on DVD, play games and even write CDs and DVDs so you can backup data.
There are very few advantages to having a floppy disc drive nowadays, but the one that does come to mind is that you can create a boot floppy to load up your computer if anything goes wrong or to create backups of your entire disk (using something like Norton Ghost).
Both CDs, DVDs and USB flash drives have pretty much replaced floppy disks now as they hold so much more data.

The CD rom will play programs, but is not a burner. Floppy disks are like the dinosaur a thing of the past. Computers do not even have an A drive now.

There are no advantages to a floppy disc. They hold 1.44MB of data, which is not very secure, the data is lost easily from them. They are no longer cheap against CD ROMS, and not an awful lot smaller.
CDs are now very cheap, as little as 6p each, hold 700MB, are a lot more stable than floppies, you can copy an awful lot more to a CD, and use it on a lot more computers (a lot of computers, particularly laptops, don't even bother having a floppy drive as standard these days.

A CD-rom cannot to erased, a floppy can; a CD is immune to electromagnetic radiation, it can erase a floppy: A CD is more reliable, than a floppy; a CD can hold 700MB of data, a floppy can hold only 1.44MB. Many new computers comes with a CD-RW drive, but many no longer come with floppy drives. A DVD is even better, most hold 4.7GB, and multiformat DVD burners, are fairly cheap.
