Why are you selling it? If it was your first guitar, don't sell it. I've spoken to so many guitarists who regret selling their first guitar.

I would say, if you're uk based that your local newspaper is a good start. Alternatively, give it to a charity that gives musical instruments to kids in disadvantaged areas. They get a break, you get that warm fuzzy feeling.

If it is a GIBSON SG, then a newspaper ad will likely get you more response than you would care to have. If it is an EPIPHONE SG, you are much better off taking it to a music store that buys guitars. Expect to get about $60 if it is an Epiphone.

i dont think i understand...theres people out there who don't like ebay....if thats not your thing I would say bring yer geet down to the local pawn shop or else put posters up or sumthin...In my area the music store guy will let you sell your guitar out of his shop. You tell him how much you want for it and he'll sell it for say 50$ more and give you your askin price.

If you don't wanna do ebay, the local paper's your best bet. Don't try selling it to a shop. They'll pay very little.
