Bears live in a variety of habitats from the tropics to the Arctic and from forests to snowfields. They are mainly omnivorous, although some have a more specialised diet, such as polar bears. They eat lichens, roots, nuts, and berries. They can also go to a river or other body of water to capture fish. Bears will commonly travel far for food. Hunting times are usually in the dusk or the dawn except when humans are nearby-.

All except polar bears traditionally live in forests. However, due to habitat loss and poaching (mainly the Chinese for their phoney medicine and expensive soup, but also dumbo 'frontier man' in USA and Canada who thinks it makes him look macho to shoot a defenceless mother bear - many cubs are orphaned this way) bears are close to extinction everywhere.
I love bears, they are my favourite animal, so this all makes me very sad.

There's a family of three bears that live across the road from me. I keep seeing some golden haired girl going in there and every time she runs out screaming. It really upsets the pigs who have the three houses next to them.
