Think of a relationship as a mine and your sex life as a canary.

If there are any problems, the sex is the first thing to go

It may well be a medical problem for which you need to be examined by your doctor. There are a number of ailments of the male genitals that can cause erections to not come up or not stay up.

However, if your doctor pronounces you healthy and says your equipment is in good working order, then you need to deal with other factors that cause this type of failure to function. The big ones are:
a) stress caused by work, life, family, etc. If your mind is all tied up wrestling with all the cares and worries of life or a situation or a problem, then your mind is taking you away from enjoying sex and probably many of the other pleasures that make life itself so wonderful. Review, with your partner if possible, all the aspects of your work life, home life, family life, etc. and try to identify problem areas or worries or other cases where stress is getting into your head. Then sort them out and deal with them effectively.

b) The other significant aspect to erection failure I notice is what can only be termed boredom. No, it isn't that you need a new partner, more that many years of the same sex in the same place with the same person can just become routine and mundane and not sexcite you any longer. So, it is high time to mix it up a lot and return to the carefree days of youth when sex was spontaneous and was done anywhere anytime. No one says you have to hold fast forever to one technique in one place; you are free to do it and be creative. The laundry room, the kitchen, the living room are all safe places. The back seat of the car or the back deck or even the local park are both more adventurous and more thrilling. And buy a book on the 50 ways to pleasure each other and study it carefull and practice them all so you find all sorts of ways to rejuvenate the sexual side of your relationship. And let's not forget flowers, dating, going to the Y or swimming together, walking in a park holding hands and kissing and all those simple pleasures you may have long ago abandoned.

Set yourselves free of the rut of adulthood and enjoy life as it is meant to be.

Eating lots of leafy greens, whole grains, oysters, watermelon, and blueberries (most any fruit will work, really) will help you give your body all that it needs to improve the quality of your erections, while cutting out processed foods, cigarettes and alcohol will provide further benefits. Well Rich - for a man to sustain a good hard-on - he must be very relaxed, positive, comfortable with his lover, aroused, excited & before all of that - he MUST be horny.

If conditions are not Ideal for the guy - how can he get hard & stay hard ??? think about that.

for two primary reasons
a.) stimulation & sensation
or
b.) emotional(that's rite) Men have an emotional side
You can try using a "Cock Ring"
I've had alot of luck with one
they sell them at the adult novelty stores
I would suggest a rubber one that you'd roll onto him just before
insertion. Ther metal type he needs to be wearring prior to having an errection.
Go to your local adult toy store and ask them
They'll sell you something.
happy humping

For most women, arousal is an emotional experience. I suspect some men are the same. It's difficult to become aroused if the relationship is not satisfying your emotional needs.

Apparently their response is partly psychological, partly physical. Sometimes if your head ain't in it, your body won't follow.
