Egyptians, hell ppl outside of racist america understand who and what they are. There is no such thing as blackland or negroworld or any silly stuff like that. The egyptians, ethiopians, and all africans in other countries associate themselves with their land, where they come from because they are not polluted by the racism in america. They are smart enough to know that black is not a race, it is an idea that was first begun by whites in america to express their disdain towards african americans that had been brought here. In their eyes black was the absence of light and purity and they believed that the white race was the eidelon of beauty. Africans in other countries are too smart to buy into that. They appreciate and accept who they are and it sucks that on a census sheet the supposed race for african amercians to mark is black. I wish that it was attributed to the culture like hispanics and mexicans can mark instead of it having to be some color issue. Oh well thats my spiel. )0(

Well I guess I would think they would want to be called Egyptians. Being black doesn't have anything to do with being from Egypt. Just like I'm a white woman, but I'm an American. I'm not sure but I think you might be confusing a race issue with a person's nationality.

Have a wonderful day. :)

Even though Egypt is in Africa it is the middle east section and they call themselves middle eastern not african. Not all Egyptians are black. The ones from families in southern Egypt near the Sudan border are black and the ones from northern Egypt have more of a mexican skin color. And, of course, various shades in between.

I didn't know that they hated to be called African. Well if that's true, that's mighty silly. Egypt certainly isn't in Germany.

If they are eqyptians, then call them as such. They have a right to be called whatever they want and you and I should support that. Those that call someone something that they are not, or that they don't want to be called, is the racist.

well whenever they are on tv or look at the president of Egypt none of them are black people, just because they are in the continent of Africa doesn't mean they are actually black, cleopatra was Greek not black, find the real facts, this stuff is all documented in history, but many people are trying to change our history books to suit there views
