It might be boring, but it's not pointless. You'll get sick if you live somewhere that isn't kept clean. Very sick. It's better to do the chores & have your health than it is to live in filth.

Let me put it this way..i have thrown out my dishes twice because i didnt want to wash them...does that answer your question? I am all for paper plates. I have dishes again, but i watch myself now, and do not suffer from the 'Donner Syndrome" which means .."Oh that is so cute I must just have it!"
That is the fastest way to junk up a kitchen. laundry? keep it to a minimum....if yuogo to garage sale, use soe of the clothes as throw aways for those times yu will not be botheresd to wash clothing. it is emancipating. i do NOT care who gives me a thumbs down on this. gardens are for gardeners . I hate housework...hell i had a cleaning business, and yes my house was immaculate, and it was NOT depression that did me in but a fall....so severe, that i could barely stand....so the dishes went south. To this day i still do not care. In five years i will not be alive anyway so what IS the point? I would far rather enjoy the moment....and take pride how many books I have sifted through and how much i have been ble to loe and laugh screw house work......btw i called a maid service yesterday I simply cannot be bothered...not now.
Thanks
Lioncourt

hehe. I wish I could agree. I think my kids' back packs explode. Honest. I haven't actually witnessed this phenomenon, but it's bound to happen while my back is turned. My hubby comes home and he leaves a trail (shoes, lunch pail, keys, mail, hat, shirt, socks then pants) from the front porch to the bathroom, and I suspect that the bathroom also explodes while he's in there. Just a guess. I mean, I clean of a day, everyday, and if I didn't within...oh...I'm betting two days, tops, you wouldn't be able to see the floor.

Housework is about maintenance. If you applied your rationale to your own body, then imagine how long you could live without a shower. Maybe nothing can ever be perfectly clean, but at least it's not perfectly dirty!

why yes I do. I clean all day the kids and husband come home and within an hour you can't even tell it was cleaned to begin with. However you got to clean because the cleaning fairys arent going to pay you a visit. I have been waiting a long time for them... still not here.

It does seem that way, but I still get a good feeling just after cleaning, when everything is nice & shiny & smells so clean--too bad it only lasts about an hour.

It looks better and is healthier if it's clean. Plus, if you ever wanted to move it would be easier to sell your house if it were clean or get your security deposit back if you live in a rental. I do agree though! Especially making the bed!!!!

Because eventually someone would report me to Child Services for letting my kids live in filth! My son has asthma and allergies so a nasty house would probably cause him to go into respiratory distress. And anyway who wants to live in a pigsty? Not me!

I do feel like that sometimes, but I also can't stand a dirty house. It's a double-edged sword.
