I'm not sure it's the biggest football game ever, but it's probably one of the biggest ones in college football. This is probably one of, if not, the biggest college football rivalry in the US. I know fans from other colleges might argue, but even when I lived in Texas and saw the Texas vs. Texas A&M rivalry did it even come close to matching the rivalry between OSU & Michigan when I lived in Ohio. This rivalry gets the attention of almost everyone in the states of Michigan and Ohio. They wait all year for this one game. To the fans, this one game means more than the entire rest of the season combined. The saying goes between these two rivals, "You can lose all of the rest of the games during the entire season, but you'd better not lose the OSU vs. Michigan game."
This game also brings together the two perennial powerhouses of the Big Ten in football and normally two of the toughest teams in the country. But never have the two teams in their entire history been ranked #1 and #2 when they have gone into this game. Not only that, but with the way the other teams who might compete for the national title have slipped and fell during parts of the season, a rematch could possibly happen between these two titan teams for the national title in Arizona. That could mean a whole lot of money for the Big Ten. That would put not one, but two Big Ten teams in the national title game and a third team, most likely Wisconsin at the Rose Bowl. If that happens, the Big Ten certainly could start singing "We're in the Money!"

It completely depends where you live...Of course it's not going to be very big to anyone who doesn't have ties to Ohio or Michigan..I wouldn't say that it's the most important thing that has ever happened..Thats a pretty strong statement..But to me and most people I know it is the biggest football game ever!! People in Ohio love the Buckeye's more than all our professional sports combined..So to us this game is just huge..It is the National Championship!

This game is being hyped just like the Notre Dame vs. Michigan State match up. Remember Bubba Smith and the chant "kill Bubba kill." Well he did in that he knocked Notre Dame's quarterback Hanratty out in the first quarter.
The game did not live up to all the hype. It ended up in a 10-10 tie with Notre Dame's Ara Parsegian (sp?) electing to let the clock run out and take a tie game.
Ohio State and Michigan do not compare to the match up mentioned above. For that year Notre Dame allowed 38 points for the entire year with six shutouts and Michigan State was a powerhouse as well.
I hope the game plays out much better though. Ara took a lot of heat for taking a tie.

Don't think it ether, its just a college football game. Don't get me wrong I love college football but I m not going to say its the biggest or most important thing to ever happen. Plus, we all know Ohio State is going to put the cocky Michigan Wolverines in their place on Saturday. Michigan is over rated while Ohio State is way more skilled and deserving.
I'm from Michigan, born and raised. (went to MSU)

What is this, like some religious experience?
Biggest football game this year happened in Detroit back in February. Biggest football game ever...well...that all depends on who one cheers for.
Most important thing ever...well, that's completely open to conjecture, but I'm sure a college football game isn't it. (For my money, its when Genesis announced their reunion tour for next summer...but that's me).

everybody's biased
people from Texas don't realize how big of a rivalry this game is
people from Ohio don't realize how much of a rivalry Texas OK is...
although the experts tend to agree on which is better
also...to the SEC fan....don't be stupid
4 losses....yeah right
but thanks for giving a great example for my BIAS comment

not the biggest ever...but the best this season. Who knows if it ends up being a triple overtime thriller it has potential to be the best ever.
