No, don't confuse system memory (Ram) with video memory. If a game requires a minimum video memory of lets say 128 mb and your video card only has 64 mb of video memory, it will not work even if you have 1gb of Ram in the system.

Video memory is used to actually render the graphics and the more you have the better looking your games will be. If you are playing a game and you notice slowdown when there is alot of different things on the screen, then an upgrade to your Ram would help with that.

The Geforce 210 is a turd. you may truthfully do greater proper for the money. Even a Radeon 6450 or possibly a 5450 would be quicker. yet to that end, the RAM is going to help the main. 1GB of RAM is paltry. The X3100 isn't very stable, yet Win7 does not choose plenty to run the UI. Peter, you fail on diverse stages. A Radeon 6450 > 4550 for the comparable cost, and a rather good variety of video enjoying cards can run on a 300w or much less power furnish. That 6450 eats decrease than 26w below an entire load. you will desire to in all threat stick it on a 200w power furnish and be only high quality. The Geforce 210 isn't a stable purchase, and that i'd never, EVER propose a friggin' PCI card for something different than including yet another effortless demonstrate. do no longer submit in case you do no longer possibly understand what you're posting.

Well a video card is not just memory my friend, it also has a graphics processor built which can generate those graphic polygons faster then a regular processor. So even if you get a gig of RAM its not required that your processor will be good enough to play those games well. Atleast a 256mb video card is recommended...
