Dear Raju,
I must agree with those who say human beings are evil.
The Bible says that ALL have sinned and fallen short of God's glory ... but while we were yet dead in our sins Christ died for the ungodly.
We definitely do some good things, some people more than others but we are all capable of doing the most horrendous evil given the right (wrong) circumstances.
My youngest grandson had his first birthday yesterday. I do have other grandchildren but this is the first one I have lived with. He is absolutely adorable and I really enjoy taking care of him. But already I can see little signs of Self. I know that it will increase as he gets older. That is why I am teaching him about Jesus Christ.
Don't get hung up on the Good or Evil question. The Answer is Jesus Christ. The awesome uncreated Creator of the universe knows that on our own we are eternally separated from Him and we need His help to be restored to a right relationship with Him.
Have you accepted His free grace yet? I sure hope so!

With no offense meant, but assuming you are human, I have to wonder what you expect from other humans?
Certainly the question will get answers that are subjective, and opinionated, on a very select, personal level.
To give you a general answer, I suspect we are born neither, or leaning toward all good. That said however, even as infants we "learn" negative behavior very early on, to aid in support of our needs/wants.
Evil is too strong a word to use, in my opinion,,,and/or it should be tempered in degrees. Also I wonder of your definition of essence?
Anyone who is able to have cognitive thought, is well aware what good or evil they express, or is manifest by their actions. Some regret, while others displace regret, respect, rationale, with greed.

The concept of good and evil was created by human. Thus, we are neither good or evil in essence. The society corrupts us into being one or another.

good and evil is what we human have decided on over years (and they used to be different in different cultures before globalization or human migration)...
however the question that are we good or evil comes from the fact that we have forgotten that we made these concept..
look at animals... if a lioness kills a buffalo... she's not evil for sure... she's an ANIMAL.... and the problem arises when we forget that we are and animal too!
ps. i believe that defining good and evil in a social term is beneficial since it may help living for citizen.... however in philosophical point of view there's no good or evil!

in case you look at non secular solutions we are in essence stable. in case you're taking faith out, then there is not any sparkling decrease answer. Who says what's powerful or undesirable? the criteria society has conformed too have been made up as a majority rule variety deal. without those standards we can ask why is it incorrect to scouse borrow or kill. you may say that taking a existence inflicts discomfort on yet another, yet we've been taught that that's inaccurate. How can we actually comprehend it relatively is incorrect? as quickly as we "look outdoors the field" and don't view the essence of human beings as stable or evil, we would desire to even see that we are greater animalistic than the rest. we try on instincts. We do what we would desire to do to proceed to exist. A lion does not pass to penal complex for killing a gazelle. they're rewarded with the nutrition it grants. Many human beings have this mentallity, even nonetheless they won't be killing, they're keen to step on everyone for his or her very own survival. So in essence, we are neither stable nor evil, yet instinctual. (that's barely one theory, i actually pass to church, yet i like to argue this factor. i think of God gave us this survival potential, we've only no longer continuously used it for the betterment of guy like he planned.)

I think there are a few who are in essence evil, but most are good. I've found that if people are treated with kindness, they usually respond with kindness.

if a tiger can protect its youngs, then i can say humans are good by nature but tempted by evil.
it is up to you to avoid evil thoughts and deeds through meditation and other self- or group- helps and counselling.
avoid the negative things in life as much as possible but balance the unbalanced with ways example helping charity, paying the bills, etc.
i am still learning more about life and will tell you more when the time comes.
important: try to be as neutral as possible because heaven will catch up with anyone who strays away.
ps: a moment of half-silence in thought of heaven's presence can help too at times and chanting prayers can help too.
cheers and good luck!

We are the equivalent of a festering infection on an open wound as a species, we collectively use, abuse, litter and destroy but in essence or spirit I find it hard to believe that we are born evil.

Humans are good beings with tendencies towards evil. We are made in Gods image and given many gifts. One of our gifts is free will. It is up to individual human beings to wisely use their free will. God did not make evil, it was Satan and his ilk that rebelled against God. They misused their free will. Satan and all his demons try to get back at God for being punished by corrupting humans. Satan can't get God directly - but he can hurt him by getting his children - human beings. Never underestimate how much demons are willing to do to encourage you to sin. This is why it is important to think about short and long term consequences of actions. It is important to be virtuous, to pray and to be thankful to God for the gifts you have been given and to ask him to help you to live wisely. The four cardinal virtues are wisdom, temperance, fortitude and justice.
