My husband and I went through this with our baby. We couldn't agree on anything. The way we settled upon some names was this...
Each make a list of the names you like (preferable a long list of names you like). Then trade lists, you cross out the the ones you don't like, circle the ones you do like, or might consider, and he does the same. Then talk about them, he may be able to convince you or you may be able to convince him to like a name you never thought you would like. Good luck with this, naming your child is a hard job (especially when you and your boyfriend obviously have different tastes). When you come upon the right name, you will just know!!!
Another thing that helped us was picking the initials. Say you want your child's initials to be B.M.W (or whatever) then you look at names that would fit with these initials.
Or compromise name your child Harvey Jay or Jay Harvey, that way you both get what you want!!

Jay is a nice nickname for a lot of names, really any name that starts with J could be nicknamed Jay.
Joseph Harvey
Joshua Harvey
Jackson Harvey (my pick)
I don't like Harvey at all but your b/f should have a hand in it...

why dont you use one as a first name and the other as a middle name Jay harvey sounds nice, but harvey jay not so nice. Or you could just go with Tyron, that is a great name for a boy. good luck.

Jay could be short for Jason. What about Jack or Jackson. You could shorten it to Jay but it still sounds masculine and traditional enough for you bf. My son is Conor, which is strong but different. James is a good name that can be Jamie, or Jimmy. Many of the older names have become popular again as society is moving towards more traditional values. Congratulations and best of luck. God Bless all three of you.

What me and my boyfriend did with our daughter is we went through the baby name book together and highlighted names that we both liked and then narrowed it down until we found something that we agreed on, you can also compromise and let him have Harvey as a middle name, that way you have more of a bargaining chip with the first name.
