I've never been told that getting in a tanning bed while you're pregnant is unsafe for the baby (this is my 3rd pregnancy) I guess that just what I've always assumed... But my sister in law is pregnant right now and so am I. She still goes to the tanning bed about twice a week. Is that safe?!

Its very important to remember to not over heat yourself while your pregnant...you can go in hot tubs but only for like 5 minutes at a time, avoid having hot baths and dont go tanning! If you are going to be prego through summer than try to wear a hat too and limit your time outside! Your sister in law is taking a risk and may miscarry :( Tell her to stop!!

Well the Dr. told me no heating pads. So i would think NO tanning beds. Your body is already giving that baby heat, dont want to add any more.

I wouldnot use a tanning bed in pregnancy. Its not life saving or critical and I would not put my baby at risk for vanity!!

The radiation from the UV lights can harm the baby. I would not try it. You could ask your doctor though because sometimes in some cases they recommend it.

I WOULD SAY NO AND TALK TO MY DOCTOR ABOUT IT! I AM SURE HE WOULD SAY NOT TO DO IT. I LOOK AT IT LIKE THIS I AM NOT RISKING MY BABY FOR SOMETHING I THINK MAKES ME PRETTY AND WHEN THE DOCTOR SAYS NO I WOULD GET SOME LITERATURE ON OT TO SHOW YOUR SISTER IN LAW! GOOD LUCK AND CONGRATS ON YOUR NEW BABY!
