yep they did. he is going to be a back up QB if Brady gets hurt. i mean Brady has been on the injured list like the whole time listed as probable. i think that having Testaverde isn't going to hurt.

GO PATRIOTS!!

don't worry Chrissy Brady isn't hurt bad at all....i no how u feel though i would be in panic to. like u i am in love with Brady so if he was ingured severely i wouldn't no what i would do. Go Pats!

Yeah they did. Brady has had a shoulder injury for quite some time and he's been listed the entire season on the injured list. Belicheck lists anybody who's gone to see the doctor at anytime over the past week or so on the injured list. So Brady's injury could be very minor. His two poor performances though could indicate that the shoulder injury could be getting worse and Belichek probably wants a back-up plan in place in case he ever needs it. Brady had a couple bad games (against Indy with a QB rating in the 30's and against the NY Jets with a QB rating in the 80's, neither spectacular) and the Patriots back up quarterback doesn't have much experience (he was the back-up quarterback at USC under Palmer and Leinert). The current back-up has only seen one game of action at USC and one game of action in the NFL (against Minnesota where he didn't even throw a pass). They are probably bringing Testaverde in as a just-in-case quarterback. I'm not sure how much he'd help them though. He doesn't have the best completion percentages anymore and at his last stint he threw for 1 touchdown and 6 interceptions. I have a lot of respect for Testaverde, but I think it's time for him to retire and stay retired.

On the chance that Brady does go down, Testaverde might be a good step in replacement. That also said, I see this as almost a player/coach job he's gained. Brady hasn't looked steady this year, and that older player might help his game get back to where it should be.

don't worry too much about the patriots signing vinny testaverde he's just there for an insurance policy he most likely won't step on the field anyway he'll probably be used as a quartebacks coach he'll be in uniform but it's more like a mentor type situation

According to http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/injuries;_ylt=Aqjhdu7AueihY6HblfWVyghDubYF Brady isn't injured. From the AP report: "Brady has been listed as probable on the injury report every week for last season and this season, but hasn't missed a game."

Testaverde's so old. His TD/INT ratio was 1:6 last season. I guess the Pats wanted someone besides an inexperienced Cassel to back up Brady.

I think they want Vinny Greenhead (Testaverde in italiano) simply to help work the QBs out. And he probably just wants to play, and be around the game. He's pretty versatile.

But Brady isnt hurt or anything. That wouldve been splashed allllllllll over. LOL!

i think they should get rid of Brady and Start Vinnie then they might beat the jets or maybe even the bears, but as long as Brady is there they wont he is washed up like Brett Farve
