another question for all you lovely helpful ladies out there. Im 13 weeks and am hoping to hear my babies heartbeat this afternoon. Up till now the pregnancy hasn't felt real. All symptoms have gone and apart from being a little tired, i feel as normal. It got me worried that something may be wrong. When u heard the heartbeat did it make the pregnancy seem real? if not, at what point did this happen?

I'm almost 10weeks, and I haven't had any morning sickness. I only had the tired symptom, so i'm like you it just didn't seem real. I heard the heartbeat yesterday for the first time, and it really hit me then : ) I had my sonogram, and got a picture... it's amazing when you see something moving inside you for the first time. I can't imagine what it will be like when you can start to feel the baby move and kick! Good luck today and congrats!

Countless positive test results. Heard the heartbeat. Saw the baby (at 18weeks and was baby as baby could be instead of a little jellybean.) Felt the movements (LOTS!) have grown, and still get to hear the heartbeat occasionally at appointments. Yet, it still hasn't really hit me that in four months I'll have a little girl and I'm not really sure when it will. I have moments but otherwise, I suppose until baby is here ... it might always fluctuate between dream/reality.

Well I am at almost the same point as you, I am 14 wks gone and get my first scan next wednesday. It doesnt feel real and my friends say that it doesnt feel real until you actually have the baby on the way home, even in the hospital, its so unreal. So we have a few more months left of unreality left!!!!

I am looking at baby stuff and picturing decorations for the nursery and even talking about baby names, but it feels as tho it could be happening to someone else, its weird

Anyway, congratulations and let me know how you get on, do you want to know the sex of the baby???

I am unsure at this point, but it would help with preparation.

You know what - it may never really sink in. I was married, and the pregnancy was totally planned, but when I acutally got pregnat I felt very detached. It got better over the months, but not totally. I was freaked out that i would be detached from the baby. NO SO! The instant he popped out it was the love of a lifetime. Absolutely head over heels in love. It did help when he started kicking in the womb.

Heartbeat and ultrasounds help but the one that makes it real for me is when the baby starts moving. It's a wonderful feeling to have a life inside of you wiggle and kick. Congrats mommy.

Feels more real then before, but wait till you feel the first kick, or when she/he has the hicups for the first time. AMAZING!!!! I get so excited talking about babies now. But do not plan on having another. I will talk till blue in the face about her though. Any more ?? i will try and help. Good luck today. Let us know how it went.

Labor is when it began to feel real for me during my first pregnancy. With every pregnancy after that, it felt real when i couldn't button my pants anymore.

Congrats!!!
