I do about 80wpm. 41 is not bad at all. I'm not exactly sure what the average amount of words per minute is though.

Many jobs require a person to type 40 words per minute. It's considered a minimum requirement but obviously good enough to get the job done.
I personally type about 80 wpm, and am told that I type "fast." My sister types about 120 wpm, which is off the charts and ridiculous.
I'd say you're above average compared to most people, but not so fast that you're considered a "fast" typist.

75+wpm is usually a good typing speed for job positions. I would guess an average, not counting people that don't use computers, is somewhere around 40-50.

tootsie1115 is correct. 75 wpm is NOT an expected typing speed for most jobs--maybe before adjusting for errors.

...fast is considered around 70wpm and up. Accuracy counts just as much as speed. Anyone can type "fast" but being able to type fast AND as error-free as possible makes all the difference.

41 wpm is usually good enough for an office job, believe it or not.
i can do almost 70 (and i don't even type correctly, haha), but my sister can go at around 130, which is crazy.
i'm suer practice could help you type a lot faster, just find time for it.

It's not how fast anyone types that matters. It's how accurate the typing is
