Oh definataly.
I could tell you a whole load of rubbish about it being a family day and a day of giving.
But really its just an excuse for some time off work and some fun.
I do enjoy giving prezzies and recieving a few but each year it seems to get less important. I look forward to everyone being in a holiday mood.
I reckon in another 50 years PC goverments will change it from a Christian holiday to just a general holiday. What do you think about Easter? I just look forward to chocolate: )
Well Merry Christmas everyone: )

I'm an atheist who joins in the Christmas celebration with the Christian part of the family for the sake of family spirit, spending quality time together and putting up beautiful, colorful lights at the darkest time of the year. I haven't accepted Christmas presents for years and I don't drink alcohol. I admit I do enjoy the good food though.
By the way, Christmas was not originally a Christian holiday. The Christians stole the idea to celebrate at this time of the year (from the Pagans I think).

We've been feeding and boozing at this time of year since long before Christianity. The Romans got smashed twice, Saturnalia on 17th December and the birthday of Mithras on 24 December. What we know as Christmas was a 4th century invention when Christianity became the state religion and they needed a new excuse.
So keep boozing and overeating all you atheists and pagans, we'll join you when we get home from church.

Funny, because the celebration at this time of year only recently became a Christian holiday. It was, is and always will be a time for family to get together to have a party, not only about celebrating the birth of someone who wasn't even born at this time.
Christmas is just the general term for the celebration nowadays. When another big religion takes hold it will be called whatever they decide to call it. It used to be called Yule. So whatever your reason for celebrating this time of year I say GO FOR IT!! Celebrate till you can't take it any more and then celebrate just a little more!!!

No, Not Me!! We have been having a good old party at this time of year long before Mary dreamed up the 'an Angel did it and then flew away' story. So we are not hypocrites, just normal common sense people able to enjoy life for what it is. Cheers!!

Me. I'm being honest. I don't go to church and I don't say my prayers. At Christmas I get the tree out, shop like it's the last shopping days on earth and eat like it's going out of fashion. I don't say "Happy Birthday Jesus" and I can just about manage to listen to a Carol concert as it is Christmas. Any other time of the year and Songs of Praise is switched over in one second flat.

I wouldn't say I'm a total hypocrite.
Christmas is a time for families to be together
(along with the food ,booze and presents.)
Plus,It's always nice to help those less fortunate during
the holiday season.

At least with buying presents etc you are still effectively celebrating Christmas whether Christian or not.
