I washed in hot soapy water after every use at work. Then, at least once a week (although usually each night) I would bring the parts home and sterilize them. I was extra careful because my twins were preemies.

If you don't have access to hot soapy water at work then Medela has quick clean wipes you can use. Or, you can refrigerate the pump horns.

Hope this helps!

I don't. At work I just do a quick rinse in hot water and that's it. Milk is good for up to 8 hours at room temp so I don't worry about getting the pump sterile after every use. I wash it in the dishwasher at night.

If I had a child with a compromised immune system, I'd probably sterilize more often, maybe with each use in a microwave steralizer.

No. I think it's recommended initially before the first use, but after that, hot soapy water is fine. If you're at home and have a dishwasher with a sanitize cycle, that's excellent too.

My breast pump says do not boil, and in the hospital in the special care nursery we just washed them in the sink with dish detergent. And that was the same for the preemies. So you should be fine.

If you have a normal, healthy baby, it's probably not necessary to sterilize them for every use. There are special microwave bags that you can buy to sterilize them if you want/need to do so.

Nope, just wash and rinse them well and they're good to go.
