my best guess would be to go to a dealer and ask them or see if you can find a price guide sort of like the ones they have for sports cards

I would check to see if somebody has listed that item (or a similar item) on e-bay. That will usually tell you how much someone is willing to pay for an item. The problem you run into with "book values" is that you never seem to be able to find anyone willing to pay that price. At least on e-bay, you can actually see what people are willing to pay & if pictures are included with their auction, you can see the condition of the item. It's tough to really rate the condition of your item with a book.
