Where on the body could one receive an axe-wound and expect it to heal the most quickly?
Any thoughts? Is this close to the bone?

My girlfriend has an axe wound. She's had it all of her life apparently and she keeps trying to get me to fill it up as it hasn't healed yet and is showing no signs of doing so.

Ouch! Well my dad actually hit himself in the calf once when he was chopping wood, and it was on the front of his leg, so there wasn't much to go through before hitting the bone. I assume it healed pretty quickly, it happened when I was quite young so I don't really remember anything about it except that his scar is pretty small. My dad's just good like that :)

Very close to the bone. That made me shudder.
Now I have a horrible image of an axe hitting me right in the shin bone. .AHHHHH
