Female: Florence Nightingale, Emily Pankhurst and Elizabeth Fry, Elizabeth I. Male: Robin Hood; Sir Francis Drake; Capt. Cook; Sir Christopher Columbus, Steve Erwin; Isambard Kingston Brunel; Robert Louis Stephenson; Charles Darwin; David Attenborough; Jesus;Bob Geldof and Joy and George Adamson; Maybe not the type of heroes you were thinking of but nevertheless, heroes.

Female heroes are PC and there's a time and a place that a woman can be a hero in her own way.
However, men really need to make a comeback as heroes in this present world and become role models once again, because of the denigrating of men in the media by portraying them as bumbling idiots or homosexuals.

Surely, if you're a hero, you're a hero and your gender doesn't come into it. Although, technically, shouldn't it be Heroes and Heroines?
Anyway, in literature/film/fantasy there are brilliant examples of 'heroes' of both sexes - from Mr Darcy to Superman, from Jane Eyre to Wonderwoman or Charlie's Angels etc.
In real-life we need heroes (roll-models) of both sexes for children to look up and aspire to.

Male. Deffo. I know your going to get a lot of feminist bull. I prefer male because, they are men. Yum yum. By the way, in films like charlies angels, they make men to appear dumb and thick, if it was a male hero who did that, how many angry females would they be.
