Some people are saying that the pacifiers effect the respiratory system of the babies....... Is it true?

It doesn't harm the health of the baby, however it shouldn't be given to a baby for a long time as it affects the growth of teeth in an outward position.

Although there are other disadvantages of using the pacifier, no it is not true about it affecting the respiratory system of babies. Some disadvantages are slow development in speech sounds, facial expressions, sometimes may cause excess wind in baby, it becomes an extra item to wean baby off, etc. Babies however are different. I personally do not use it nor do I believe using it.

It will harm their teeth if used too often. I took the pacifiers away from my kids when they got their first tooth.

no it does not affect the health of an infant. Studies are showing that it may help prevent sids, if they are sucking on a paci, their nose can not go against anything to cause suffication.

Nope..not true.. but like others are saying there are links to them reducing risk of SIDS
