Someone said to me that they think the reason some black women love white men so much is because it's a type of "Stockholm syndrome" they've developed....Is this idea true?..Or just insultng and ignorant? Do you agree with it?

my personal opinion is that the reasons are varied on why a black woman would want a white man.one could be that on a whole there are more successful white men in the corporate world and could provide a better life for the woman.before i continue i want you to know that i am not a red neck or racist.i grew up as one of two adopted children in my family.my brother is black, and i am white.although raised by the same parents we grew into two diferent kind of people.with that said i will proceed.alot of white women go for black me because of the myth about penis size, and we all know that whie men will do certain things in bed that most black men wont do.and ive heard from many women ive dated that white men are more giving and passionate in bed and will be more apt to be there emotionally for her after sex.there are also more (and white men are guilty of this too)black men with multiple children with multiple women who either run from thier children and child support,or have to work so hard to pay support that there is little left to support a new relationship.most black men also have this "king of the castle" complex.where they are the man and the woman must shut up and comply with all his demands.white men for the most part consider thier women as equal partners and listen and respect thier views and opinions.so all in all the avarage white man can fulfill all her financial, material, emotional, and sexual needs more than the avarage black man.and dont get me wrong, most of my closest friends are black men,and most of them are hard working, church going family men,so i have been talking avarages.there are good and bad points in all races.and even though i am married to a white woman i have dated many black women and find them to be beautiful and intellegent people.i hope you have a great day..and good question!!

No, I don't agree. I think this is an ignorant and prejudiced idea that doesn't make sense. I think that when a black woman loves a white man it's simply love, like love between any other two individuals. Seeing something else behind it is kind of like "searching for the devil everywhere". It is insulting, it indicates that this kind of love can't be true love, that it must be a disorder or something. That just seems flat out stupid to me.

Let's imagine, just for the sake of conversation, that what your friend told you holds some water. If so, wouldn't something like "Stockholm syndrome" be a valid starting point out of which a relationship develop? A person doesn't need a clearly sketched out program in order to justify his or her attraction to somebody else.

No. I think it is simply a matter of love between two people. Should not matter what your skin type. If the two involved are happy, then go for it. I agree that the philosophy is insulting and ignorant. Love happens and all love is from God.
