I still haven't figured it out either, it IS maddening, I know. And now it's not on again until February...Arrgggggeee!

The place they are in is called Hawaii, but don't tell anybody, it's a secret.
Seriously, they haven't given the answers to your questions yet. All you can get are theories. I think their are two groups of "others". One is led by Ben and they have everything you might expect to find in a small city in America. The second "others" are mostly children and are barefoot, they are the ones who leave no trail. They are probably children who escaped from others #1 who were studying them and whatever powers they have that made them interesting, like Walt.
Michael and Walt have to return to the Island at some point, if nothing else, to get Vincent.
Lot's of other stuff, but I have to hold back from rambling

the place is kept a secret from the audience...we're not really sure...but it is said that they were on a plane from australia to the US so somewhere on an island in the pacific ocean near fiji im asuming...abut it is well know that they were off course so i guess it could be anywhere...you can click the following coordinates into mapquest and it is said they might be here...4.815000, 162.342000 <---------these numbers have been important throughout the show.
now as for the others.... these are people who are also on this island...but were there before the plane crash.

they are stuck on a deserted island.
Plane crashed there.
They found evidence of others on the island who have been there for the past 14years according to a recording they found on a handheld scanner.
The black man went out on his own last night to scope the rest of the island.
I guess we will find out next week who the others actually are!
good show though isnt it!
