You're not having a good week are you? You can test the speaker by trying it in another plug in the computer if you have one. If not try a wire on the pins of the plug and attach one to a nine volt battery, the other just tap it to the battery and see if you can hear the speaker coil move a little bit. If you can hear that then your speaker isn't blown. It's in the computer. If you have a tower type computer disconnect everything from it and open one side of it and blow out all the dust inside. Watch your eyes on this. Take a look at the cards in the slots and make sure they aren't loose. Just pushing on them a little should verify that. Then put it all back together and see if that helps. If still not I'm sorry to say you may need to take it to a professional. Why am I on here so early. I just did 45 minutes on my rollers and I need a shower. See ya. Good luck.

Click Start, click Control Panel, double-click Sounds and Audio Devices, under Device Volume click Advanced. In the Master Volume window that opens, make sure the sliders for Master Volume and Wave are all the way up.

If that doesn't work, try taking your fingers out of your ears.

I have the same problem, but when a friend of mine gave me a set of external speakers that have their own volume control, the problem was solved.
