I think my 99 Isuzu Amigo's heat core is dead, if heat core was dead, does the check engine light will be on?

No...If you're not getting heat it could be from an in hose valve or vacuum hose disconnected.
The check engine light will come on if a vacuum hose is disconnected. And it supplies vacuum to one of the sensors. Such as a MAP sensor, etc. I'd check under the hood first and listen for a vacuum leak. Hope this helps.

I also doubt there is a sensor in your heater core however do not know this for certain. I would try and find a message board specifically for Isuzu's and see if you can get an answer there, or phone an mechanic and see if they will tell you. I tried to Google it and could not find a clear answer.

Two unrelated problems unless the low coolant resulted in a overheated engine. Go to AUto ZOne Or advance Auto pep boys get the code read and write it down and the freeze frame data too. We yamster mechanics are waiting to hear from you again.

no I don't believe there is a sensor for that...a lot of times it will leak ainti freeze into the interior of the vehicle when it has gone out..that is unless it's placed inside the engine compartment.
