You need a reasonable education to be an optician. IQ obviously helps, but an idle genius will get nowhere. I know people who are in my opinion intelligent but haven't got a high IQ. Personally I would forget IQ just work hard and you will be successful at most things.

Optician? Yes. But you won't need a chart-topping IQ. Just enough to let you reason and theorise clearly.
Define good IQ.

No. It can help if you are good at maths but more important if you have a good education, good people skills and a healthy work ethic.
And they have nothing to do with IQ.
I know somebody with an IQ of 150 but his life is a complete mess.
Oh i get it now (40 minutes after my original post) eye-queue very clever!

You do not need an IQ to be successful. Look at Michael Moore.

NOPE, I know of a man who can NOT read or write. This man is worth several million (US dollars) While NOT an idiot, he is no where being the brightest bulb in the cabinett if you know what I mean. But he DID make some good decisions in life and those decisions turned out to be good ones and he is now worth the money.

No - IQ (in the "normal range") is not a predictor of much of anything. It aslo depends on the quality of the test given....and don't rely on the free online tests!!
