In todays day and age, not only is it cute, but it should be applauded!

Why not? My dad is 70 and my mum is six years younger. They have always had their moments of passion. I think it would be great to see them hold hands in public.

No doubt, my dad and mum in the quietness of their home still slip on some soft music and dance together like they use to not so long ago.

I don't only find it cute, I find it wonderful to know that love moves beyond barriars and love can be shared come any age.

Just had a mental picture of my husband and myself doing that when we are older!! Just made me whell up. Just the thought that people can still love each other so much for so long is beautiful and should be respected!!

My grandparents have been together nearly 60 years and are still very much in love. My parents have been together for 30 years next year and also are still in love. Still have arguements like most couples but still the love is there. I have been with my husband for 8 years and my brother is getting married next year!!

Marriage to one person for life is not respected as much as it should be. People underestimate the commitment involved or don't take it very seriously anymore and that makes me sad.

So yes it is cute and soooo special. As divorce levels go up around the uk its going to be less common to see older couples still in love after many years together!!

Let them know how much respect you have for them and shake their hand!

One day that will be me or even you!!

Personally, I find that the absolute most romantic thing in the world to see an elderly couple who has spent a life-time together still very romantic and still very much in love! I hope that my husband and I will still be that happy and romantic at that stage in life!!!!!!!!! I'm certain that we will.

My mother is 75 and after loosing my father in 2002 I never thought she would ever consider getting married again. This past May she shocked me and my brother by doing just that. My brother and I stood up for her at this wedding---holding hands and kissing in public they did.

She seems very happy and so does this man and he's 67. I think close companionship at any age is wonderful. As my MOM puts it, "We may be OLD but we're not DEAD yet! "

of course its cute! if you think that elder people are the "opposite" of kids its like you ask me isnt it cute to see two 5-year-old kids holding hands. the thing is that what kids feel is being inlove but elder people who have lived with the person they are inlove in time they find themself loving him!! that is something that I would kill to experience. being so much inlove that in some time you in fact love someone enough to act like a child (hold hands, send flowers, bears etc) by the way great question!! :))

Absolutely. It shows they have a close, loving relationship. It also shows his respect for her. Unlike others you see where the husband walks 3 feet ahead of his wife, ignoring her. That's upsetting to me because that's how my husband was. Now that I'm dating again after the death of my husband, and the man takes my hand and openly show he cares, it makes me feel very special.

Not so much cute I find it pleasent it worked out so well for them. The world is a better place for them. The opposite to this would be a heated argument - very unpleasent.

Yes, most definitely. All couples should not stop holding hands inspite of getting old.
