How long do you leave your clothes sitting in the washer before you put them in the dryer? Do you use the correct amount of soap? How long do you wear them before you wash them? Do you leave your clothes laying on the floor at night before dressing in the morning, to pick up smells from the floor?

You'll have to ask yourself some of these questions and then think. Good luck

I just discovered 20 Mule Team Borax, although I know the stuff has been out ther for eons. It really works on hard water, takes out greys, and there is a sweeter smell to the laundry. The box holds enough for a ton of laundry you only need 1/2 a cup. You also might try a softner that will give your laundry a nice scent I like the one that smells like lavender but the guys don't mind the apple scents.

The problem might be hard water, possibly lime or calcium. You are going to have to add something to absorb the odors and soften the water. Short term, I'd use borax and ammonia added in with your detergent. If this solves the problem, fine. If not... Long term I suggest you look into getting a water filtration / softener system (uses salts) installed on the main water line into your home.

Try adding borax to your wash water along with the soap. That takes away bad smells. Make sure that your clothes are really dry before putting them away. In a humid climate if even a little damp when you put them away they can sour.

Go on line and look for Charlie's Soap..read the reviews this may help you..Assuming you take the clothes immediately out of washer and DRY them your cause is probably your water..sometimes it can be material in the clothes..usually not though..You make have to doctor your water before it gets to the machine or you may have to doctor it once it's in the machine..via detergents, bleaches for whites and bleaches for colors, also putting things in during the drying cycle..If you hang them outdoors (awful thought- lol) you can't leave them overnight..dew will screw them up big time and will have to redry next day it that's possible...check out Charlie's soap read the reviews and make your own decision Good Luck
