There's not a great deal you can do, unfortunately. Most laptops have built-in graphics cards and they are not upgradable. Not only are they slow but they steal your system RAM too.

The only thing you can do is lower your screen resolution and detail settings in the game :-(

When you next come to buy a laptop, and mobile gaming is important to you, you'll have to shell out the extra money and buy one with the best graphics card you can afford.

Either that or get a PSP/DS

I am in the same boat you are regarding games on my laptop so I tend to avoid any games which use 3d graphics (even a 5 year old 3d Sonic the hedgehog game runs slowly) and I stick to 2d games, and the laptop is fine in this area. So, I can play Bookworm, card games, Flash games, emulators (Arcade beat em ups run fine, as do SNES games and Megadrive/Genesis games).

There are thousands of games you can download and emulate which will run fine on your laptop, but there's no magic cure if your laptop doesn't have a flashy 3d card.

This depends what do u want.
1. If you want to incerease the performance of your laptop buy more RAM(Random Access Memory)
2. If you have at least 512 MB of RAM you`ll need to change your video card(this step only whan you are trying to play a game wich needs Direct X 8 or 9 hardware support)
3. If you increase your RAM and change your Video card with a better one you will maximize the performance of your laptop.

Note: Many startup applications will slow down your computer.
If you want do disable/enable them please go to:Start>Run>type msconfig>Enter and in the oppened window go to Startup tab and select and deselect wich applications you don`t want to start at the startup.

Upgrading the video card on almost all laptops is nearly impossible.
