tried ikea ,homebase etc.they do not have twist /screw based energy bulbs.

Any of the big DIY stores will sell them and practically every bit of junk mail has an ad for them - just remember to ask for "Edison Screw" fittings. That's your 'twisty' base !

Stick to nice Bright 150 Watt bulbs... dont believe this light pollution nonsense - we want to see whats going on dont we.. or if you want to be squinty eyed - try IKEA .
