I had a seriously late term abortion (4 months) by a doctor who is now recognised to be a person of malpractice. I remember it being weird and frightening as he was smoking a cigar around the clinic when I was coming in and out of consciousness. It took four days of being under and inducing and now I am so frightened that my wonderful husband and I can't have children because of that. We have discussed it. I have expressed my fears to doctors. I just want to know if anyone else has experienced similar and been able to conceive?

I haven't had this expierence myself, but a few people I know have had abortions. I'm sorry I have to say I think abortions are wrong, but in some cases a bit understandable. that doesn't help.

One friend had one abortion. She was 18 and got pg by a guy who was a minor on a drunken night. She bled for weeks. Now, she is 27 and has a 4 year old healthy son!

Another friend had anywhere from 4-8 abortions between the ages 14-17. She is now 23 and has 2 healthy children ages 5 and 2.

The older the person, the harder to concieve, there are at home ovulation tests that you can purchase so you know when the best time is to concieve, and you should also talk to a doctor about invitro fertilization if the old fashioned way isn't working for you. Get your "female parts" checked out so you know wether or not there was damage done to the wall of your uterine/pelvic area.

I wish you the best of luck in concieving children! They are truely blessings and you sound sorrowful and anxious to have a child!!

Due to the unprofessional manner of the doctor who was performing your abortion, I'd say that he didn't really know what he was doing and could have caused trauma to your uterus or other reproducting organs that it causing you difficulty when trying to conceive or carry a pregnancy for any significant length of time.

I feel that you should consult an infertility specialist to find out what the trouble is and if there was any trauma you sustained.

However, is there any possibility that this is something that may be mind over matter - such that you are feeling guilty and do not feel deserving of another chance at having a child? The mental block could be causing physical difficulties in falling pregnant.

Sadly, I had an abortion when I was 15. Now I'm married and expecting my first, didin't have any trouble conceiving. By having trouble you mean you've been trying more than a year? before that you shouldn't worry, every body is different....where you on a birth control method? that can be interfering with your conception...be patient and have faith, you'll have a baby. Good luck

If this lady needed an abortion it grew to become into her suited to get one end of tale. My recommendations on abortion could nicely be summed up like this- If I have been to be sure i grew to become into pregnant say next week and no longer able to get an abortion i might shoot my brains out in the previous i might have a baby. i'm no longer mom textile, i do no longer prefer to be a mom, I paintings against transforming into to be a mom (tablets and condoms every time), yet whilst something is going incorrect i won't have a baby; With the way i've got considered people attempt and undertake in the states i think of babies positioned up for adoption many times have a distinctly tough existence, and that i do no longer think of i ought to hold a baby that got here out of me and supply it away. i'm going to evade it in any respect expenses yet whilst mandatory i might have an abortion in a heartbeat. for people who're against it- Do you have an accompanied baby? extra helpful yet do you have an accompanied AIDs baby? Who will take them with the mothers can no longer have abortions? And do you no longer remember the hell that got here approximately final time abortion grew to become right into a criminal offense?

I've never had an experience like that, but I'm sorry you did. To find out if you're still fertile just go to a fertility specialist. They'll be able to see if that doctor caused you any problems. If he did you could always sue him and use the money towards infertility treatment, or to adopt.

My best friend had an abortion at 12 weeks when she was 19. She is now 36. She has had one miscarriage but is now 20 weeks pregnant with her first. So far so good. I hope everything works out for you. If anyone is negative on here regarding your past, ignore them, they do not know your circumstances and have NO RIGHT to judge u!!! Good luck and lots of baby dust to you

Any abortion has the potential to decrease your chances of both conceiving and successfully carrying a baby to term:

For free counseling to deal with your fears, I recommend http://www.healinghearts.org They have a great online post-abortion study, and just about all of their counselors have aborted babies themselves. They can help.

Just to be on the safe side, go to a Fertility Doctor. Most of them will not charge for the consultation.

Adopt one. If not, if your husband has an sperm bank, ask doctors to put the sperm right into your egg. Then you can conceive.
