Well I guess millions of people didn't care to go to prison.
Sue the government for what? For getting them off heroin?
This is the day and age of the frivolous law suit. Millions are filed every day. Some even get adjudicated. A lot get thrown out.
Here one such suit.
An 8 year old boy, mad at the boy next door. Was cramming rocks into the filler neck of that boys fathers new car. One got stuck so he went home grabbed a bar and returned ramming the rock with the bar. On the third thrust, the bar caused a spark blowing up the gas tank burning the boy badly and completely destroying the brand new car of the neighbor.
The boys parents, sued the neighbor for 3 million dollars for the disfigurement of their son.
THEY WON!!!!! The judge said the neighbor was liable because he should have had a lock gas cap on his car, to protect against this very type of accident.
By the way I wouldn't try what you suggested though. Because there is a law that states " a criminal can not profit from his crime." so the criminal can sue but I don't think he will get very far.

What an absolutely stupid question, firstly if you want a substance to control your life or run the risk of catching a disease like AIDS, then by all means get addicted to heroin and live of the state, on the other hand if you actually want the sort of life you have been priviledged enough to know then shut up, it is not these peoples fault, most lack a spine or backbone and need to turn to a substantance because they cannot face life, others are born into it, just because you know another kind of life don't be so bloody arrogant, its called a welfare state for a reason from the cradle to the grave just remember your a pay check away from being on the street

I'm a publican and seriously think I should take the risk of robbing a bank as I feel I am robbed daily with increased taxes, rates, drink duty, red tape, government interference etc to the extent that I now only survive in business with the help of working family's tax credit. In the event that I get caught, I will tell my prison governor that I am an alcoholic and need 10 pints of Stella to get me through my day or I'll sue for assault. As you say, it beats working for a living.

I thought that this was a stupid case at first.

BUT the said ex-cons already had prescriptions for alternatives to heroin to help them come away from drugs.

they asked for the help, but in prison it was refused.

If the didn't want the help and didn't say anything it would have been OK to not offer any alternative drugs and make them go cold turkey.

An addict is an addict but if they have asked for help they have already taken the biggest step, the least we could do is help the.

they are suing for the wrong reasons, they should sue government for allowing drugs to rise to such a standard as to demoralise people who use them, this should be classed as an act of phsycological warfare against the health and well being of the people in order to keep them stupid while there country is being ransacked by the nations of the earth,

No its not the $64,000 question. It is the 750,000 pound question....surely the government are doing them a favour by making them stop. Not to mention the safety of less drugs on our streets and offenders locked up....this country is turned into such a nanny state.

because they value their self esteem. Think working for their money is good ethic to have, i agree. They don't like needles. They like their own house, their friends, they can eat what they like shop where they like, read what they, its kind of cool being free. They could sue the government but what for? it wouldn't benefit them anyway.

You have to be a certain type of person to act this way and even though it may be a short term gain they are losers in the long run.
