I'd like to have a biography done... not just for myself, but as a book available to the public.
I'd prefer not to speak about why, but I am quite confidant it would sell well.
I am not (currently) a celebrity.
Does anyone know how I could seek out a biographer?
Thanks much,
Apple

I've never done anything like this before, and I don't want to write it myself...
what does "shop it to some publishers" mean?

I'd redommend looking for a local writer's guild or group.
Probably the people there haven't been published, but that doesn't mean they're not good.
Find someone there who finds you interesting and suggest the project to them.

Shop it to publishers would mean to actually write some outlines / excerpts etc & approach publishers to determine marketability. If they like what they see, they can put you up with an advance & a contract.
But for the above route you need to write something first or be a celebrity already & besides you may need a literary agent.

Would suggest using a ghost author OR a co-author with whom you can share your material in the manner you are confortable (voice tapes, discussions, individual correspondence etc) & start building the body of the work. You may use the blog route too.

If and when your stuff is good, the publishers would chase you themselves.

Shop the story to some publishers. They would supply the writer.
